145 why are they donating
Tell me this makes sense. Federal government sponsored company Fannie Mae has laid off 200 Indian-American for a donation scam. Reason from HR is conflict of interest. The scam involved misuse of the matching grants program. The misuse involved an organization Telugu Association of North America (TANA) This comes while Fannie Mae laid off an additional 500 for reorganization.
We ask this question, why is a company that's purpose is to make home loans to people who do not qualify for traditional home loans. The money the company makes is to be used for expenses and more loans. Why do they have a matching grant program. This is a government sponsored corporation. A matching grant program has no place in a government sponsored corporation.
When covering various city councils and town boards over the years I would see when various groups would come by and ask the elected bodies for donations. Nothing excessively large, but more than perhaps trash and protection services for an event or city space for a gathering, but taxpayer cash. Was this what the taxpayers wanted?
The same with Fannie Mae. Why does a company of this nature have any type of charitable outreach as they are effectively a charitable outreach in a way. Who in the corporate structure would be making these decisions? This also sounds like a potential plan for abuse of government related funds.
And if you are curious Apple had this problem TANA. But Apple is non-government but I do wonder how these scams and matching programs affect the price of their products.
Take this one step further, as DOGE gets data on more groups, will they find donation programs being abused? In the case of TANA, it seems that matching funds did not get to TANA but TANA executives. The have found that USAID was a big money laundering program. How many more are embedded in the various level of government across the country? This affects how much taxes are.
Again, why does a Government sponsored company have any type of donations to anyone?
