The nation was shocked when it was discovered that conservative groups were having their tax exempt status delayed by slow processing of application forms at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The adage goes like this, if you do not have tax exempt status, people will be reluctant to donate. In other words, certain people’s desire to fund causes and charitable organizations stops when it cannot be deducted on one’s taxes. Fair enough.
The IRS claimed that this was a rogue employee with specific political thought.
