170 no kings - editorialpinups

October 18, 2025 there were nationwide “No Kings” protest.  I congratulate the participants for exercising their their first amendment rights.  

For those who chose not to participate, I congratulate you for exercising your first amendment rights.

Those protesting are stating that there is someone, the current president Donald Trump, who is acting like a king.  

So what does a king do and what actions has Donald Trump done to even possibly come close to being a king.

Trump meets with world leaders.  All United States presidents (presidents) meet with world leaders.  It is a part of the history of the job and falls and comes under the section of being Commander in Chief and also negotiating treaties with the assistance of the Senate, the legislative body designed to represent the State’s governments.

Trump is the Commander in Chief of the Military which means he has a say in the running of the military. You cannot be in charge of a department without having a say in how it is run, including who is in charge and what is expected.  Other presidents have.

During Recess of the Senate Trump can fill positional vacancies.  Other presidents have.

Trump shall give Congress information relating to the state of the Union and recommend measures he feels are important and timely for completion. He may convene both houses or either separately to handle disagreements, adjournment timeliness, and to execute the provisions of the laws, including border security. Other presidents have.

Trump either signs bills or vetoes bills sent to him after joint passage of the House and Senate.  Other presidents have.

Trump entered office upon being elected and he left office when it was decided he was not elected to office.  What king does this?  It was Obama in an interview that speculated on how he would have a third term indirectly.

Trump three times won the Republican primary making him the ballot candidate for the Republican party.  In our modern era their party’s primaries were won by; Reagan forward, Biden twice, Obama Twice, Clinton twice, Bush 1 twice, Bush 2 twice, Kamala Harris zero…

Kings are put in place, many times by birth, many times by some strange appointment. Trump won two elections, some question that he won a third, but if I state that, one would say that Biden was appointed.

Wait, are we saying that Biden was anointed,… like a king?  And wait, Kamala Harris did not win a primary, not one primary or caucus vote, and she could have become president without having won the support of her party through the primary and caucus system.

So what is Trump doing that even one person can think he is a king?  

Trump has this habit of telling Congress to do their job. What king or dictator tells his legislative body to do their job?  Most kings tell their legislative body to go home.

Trump has a habit of delegating to his departments tasks that need to be done.  Is trump telling his Department of Justice to go after Letitia James for mortgage fraud or did the DOJ look at Leticia James and find out she may have committed mortgage fraud then pursued the charge?  James is a very visible person so it would not be odd that someone would bring to the attention of the DOJ that something did not look right?

James Comey could have done what he did during the Obama administration, as bad as it was and it did have an affect on some voters during the 2016 election.  But Comey decide to try profiting off his actions by writing a book and doing paid press interviews.  It just so happened that someone who saw the interviews and read the book discovered their were differences be tween his testimony with congress and the statements.  It would be derelict for Congress not ti investigate. If the charges were such that it was perceived as definitely illegal, the legal system should investigate and in this case it looks like the FBI and DOJ have been checking.

It is up to the legislative branch to enforce immigration.  The Biden (corpse) administration said new laws were needed and a large number of illegal immigrants swarmed all borders incessantly, especially the southern border and parts of the northern border. Trump is using existing laws to enforce the borders.  Illegal crossings are almost non-existent and immigration is now going into the country looking to evict the illegal scofflaws. Is this not what law enforcement looks like?

Trump signs executive orders.  He uses his desk and shows and explains the orders.  What king stops to explain his actions.  Many kings just do things.

I ask again.  What was the message of the No Kings rallies?  It seems that those protesting lost the election and their issues were not the winning issues.  In other words, the electorate did not agree with them and their guy lost.  When you can’t convince those debating against you that your point is the best way, you attack the purveyor of the other opinion.  Many liberals hated Rush Limbaugh.  They hated him more after he stated this point on his radio show.

It seems like the No Kings rallies were nothing more than sour grapes presentations!
