As usual the United States House and Senate neglected to do their job.  They have no budget and need to pass another continuing resolution.  A person with common sense would say to extend what is in place then get to real work and make the budget.

The Constitution is clear that the House does the appropriations.  They make and pass the bill then move it to the Senate to approve.  If a change is made by the Senate it goes back to the House for approval then to the President to sign.

The senate has the 60 vote rule.  This was created with the help of Late Senator and Vice President Walter Mondale formalized it 1975.  The senate is said to represent the states interests and not necessarily each citizen as the House does.  Prior to the various attempts at the filibuster rules, Senators would do rambling speeches to keep from the call for votes.

Therefore it takes more than the current Republican majority, yes, Democrats need to also help out, or just enough of them to make 60.

At issues are two big healthcare items, one is not covering able bodies workers unless minimum work requirements.  This is a Bill Clinton era requirement that Obama and Biden eliminated.  

The second is the funding of healthcare for illegal aliens.  Some states are doing this on their own at their choice, but the healthcare need can be take care of when the illegal alien returns to their home country.

Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jefferies are not in the spirit of the continuing resolution. They need to get the continuing resolution done then work on the real budget and appropriations.

The job of the Federal government is to pass legislation for United States Citizens, not illegal aliens other than to safely facilitate their return to their home country.

Schumer and Jefferies, please understand your job.
